At Tripinyo, we are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Account Information

When you register, we collect your name, email address, and password (stored as a secure hash). If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email, and profile picture from Google.

1.2 Location Data

With your permission, we access your device location to display your position on the map and optimize routes. Location data is processed on-device and is not stored on our servers after your session ends.

1.3 Usage Data

We collect information about how you use Tripinyo, including routes created, destinations searched, and features used. This helps us improve the app.

1.4 Device Information

We collect basic device information (operating system, device model, app version) to diagnose issues and improve performance.

1.5 Push Notification Tokens

If you enable push notifications, we store a Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) token to deliver notifications to your device. You can opt out at any time through device settings.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide and operate the Tripinyo service
  • Optimize multi-stop routes for you
  • Sync your saved trips across sessions
  • Send you service-related notifications and updates
  • Diagnose technical issues and improve app performance
  • Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

3. Third-Party Services

Tripinyo uses the following third-party services:

  • Google Maps Platform — for maps, geocoding, and route calculations. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
  • Firebase (Google) — for push notifications and crash reporting. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
  • Google Sign-In — optional OAuth authentication. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.

4. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we anonymize all personal data (name, email, phone, profile photo) within your account record within 30 days. Anonymized records may be retained for audit and referential integrity purposes.

5. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction: Request correction of inaccurate personal data.
  • Deletion: Delete your account and associated data directly from the app's Profile screen.
  • Portability: Request a machine-readable copy of your data.
  • Objection: Object to certain types of data processing.

6. Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted storage of tokens and credentials, HTTPS for all data transmission, and regular security reviews. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

7. Children's Privacy

Tripinyo is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will delete it.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new policy in the app. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
